Tiling Trends for 2025

29th January 2025

By Molly Cherry

As we embark on a new year, people’s attention starts to shift and the focus becomes on upcoming projects. I always think this is a good time to have a little prediction of some of the tiling trends we are likely to see for the upcoming year so I thought I would share this year’s thoughts with you all.

Earthy Tones

A few years ago a lot if interiors were turning quite bold and colourful, and whilst this is still the case, we have seen a big turn in demand for more neutral tiles. Greens and creams are becoming increasingly popular and allow you to create that sense of nature within your home. This colour palette helps to provide such a calming environment within your home, allowing you to fully relax in your little haven. Our Umbrian Limestone would be the perfect fit if you are looking to follow this trend in your home. An extremely hard-wearing natural stone tile featuring earthy colour tones alongside a hand dressed edge which gives the look of an old, time-worn floor.

We also recently introduced our Coralli Mocha Porcelain which is another wonderful option for those wanting to incorporate those earthy tones within your homes. The soft brown tones of this porcelain lends itself perfectly to a more muted interior style whilst also being a practical option for busy areas of the homes such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Modern Chequerboards

Whilst classical Black and White chequerboard flooring has been a focus for a few years now, we feel that combining other colours to create a more modern take on a chequerboard floor are starting to catch people’s attention. The combination of off-white porcelain tiles and warm sand coloured porcelain tiles found within our Coralli Chequer Porcelain allows you to create a beautifully elegant chequerboard floor. Priced at just £22.00 p/m2, they are a great way to add a sense of luxury to your home without breaking your budget.

If you are looking for a little more imperfect chequerboard floor, our Vitelli Light Chequered Porcelain would tick that box. These realistic, Italian marble effect porcelain tiles have a tumbled edge and occasional veining which are typically found within aged limestone tiles so allows you to create the look of a stone floor whilst keeping the practicality of a porcelain tile.

    Natural Beauty – Wood Flooring

We are strong believers that wood flooring is a timeless classic that never loses it’s charm. Plank flooring has seen a real surge in popularity over the past year with customers wanting to recreate the look of an original timber floor and our Hambleton Oak  will allow you to do just that. These planks go through a process whereby the edges of the boards have been burned to give the feel of an antiqued wooden floor. The planks are engineered from three layers of solid oak which makes them more durable than other engineered wood floors and they give the dense, quality feel of a solid oak floor.

    Mediterranean Magic

Mediterranean interiors are often defined by a mix of textures, natural materials and an effortless minimalistic style complimented by warm colour tones. Our Terracotta tiles would fit this interior style perfectly. These rustic tiles contain deep to light red tones and hand finished edges to give the worn appearance of an original terracotta floor. We stock our Terracotta tiles in a variety of shapes and sizes so there is something to suit every project.

Another way to add a Mediterranean-inspired style to your home is through the use of reclaimed tiles. Our collection of genuine reclaimed tiles have been salvaged from Spain meaning that imperfections are evident in the tiles and signs of colours and patterns fading are present where they have weathered in the Spanish sun. Our RT056 reclaimed tiles would be my recommendation here, with pale pink and red tones and an intricate border detail around each tile.

I hope you feel a little inspired by some of these interior styles and I am sure we will begin to see further trends as the year goes by.
