A Weekend in the Cotswolds
22nd May 2017
At the start of the month we went for a little weekend break to Cheltenham. A picturesque town in Gloucestershire which is best known for hosting the Cheltenham horse racing festival. Cheltenham is also known for being the Spa town of the Cotswolds and its famous regency buildings.
After a little bit of research on the internet we came across a lovely little place to stay called The Cheltenham Townhouse & Apartments. It came quite highly recommended to us so we thought it was time we gave it a try. The townhouse was situated along a row of beautiful apartments in the heart of Pitville Park. We just stayed for the one night and was the perfect weekend break.
This was the outside of the townhouse and it looked even better in the glorious sunshine! The buildings in Cheltenham are so pretty and it’s nice to see the more Victorian style of buildings.
The townhouse was just a little way beyond these big gates. This is the start of Pitville Park which is best known for its famous Pump Rooms. The pump rooms are one of the most popular choice of venue hire within Cheltenham as it’s been home to many famous events during the past 100 years!
We spent most of our time wondering around the town and having a look at what we could buy. There was a row of shops in the heart of the town center along the Promenade. We found some of our favourite high street shops as well as some individual, independent shops. A few little treats here and there never hurt anyone!
After a day of walking around and seeing what Cheltenham had to offer, we were ready to have a lovely sit down meal and a drink (or two!) in the evening. We eventually decided on eating at a lovely place called ‘Bills’ and I have to say the food was amazing.

As well as shopping, we managed to squeeze in have a little nosey at the buildings and houses which surrounded the town. It’s so nice to see a different style of building and it is certainly a place I would love to live! Cheltenham is the perfect weekend getaway and if you have never been, I would highly recommend a visit. Whether you are looking for a few days of shopping or a day at the races, Cheltenham has it all to offer.
