The Worcestershire Kitchen

I’ve been really lucky recently to have been able to go out and visit lots of our lovely customers’ homes to take some pictures of their newly installed floors. It’s so great to be able to see our tiles in situ and we know how helpful pictures are to customers trying to choose tiles. I also love seeing everyone’s style and how they’ve made their home unique and work for them.
One of the customers we visited was over near the beautiful city of Worcester. Tucked away in a picturesque hamlet on the outskirts of the city, the house is in the process of undergoing some serious renovation.
We went to photograph their amazing kitchen and utility, and it was definitely a wow room. Every little detail had been thought through, from the positioning of the lighting (and the type of bulbs), to the panelling in the utility room and the clever use of space creating secret (and massive) cupboards in what otherwise would have been wasted space.
The kitchen itself is from our sister company deVOL Kitchens. It’s from their Shaker range and has been painted in their gorgeous inky Pantry Blue colour – it’s been such a popular colour recently and seeing it in situ I can see why. It looks amazing!
They chose our Country Mix Tumbled Travertine for the floor, to bring more of a rustic, homely feel to the room. The colour variation in the tiles looks wonderful in this room, with the light and shadows picking out the different tones in the stone. The customers also chose to not fill all of the tiles, leaving the pitting exposed, which gives the floor so much character and really adds to the rustic charm.
Although the kitchen was beautiful, I think my favourite part of the room had to be the utility. The dark wood panel painted in the same Pantry Blue on the far wall made the room feel really atmospheric and cosy, and with a view out onto the garden, it would make doing the dishes a much nicer task.
